The U.S. House of Representatives has passed H.R. 7, the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act. Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement regarding passage of the bill:

"A majority of Americans believe that their hardworking taxpayer dollars should never be used for abortion. The Hyde Amendment has been able to successfully reduce abortions and save lives. Unfortunately, Obamacare loopholes allow taxpayer dollars to be used to cover abortions. With the bipartisan passage of the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act, we make the Hyde Amendment and other abortion funding prohibitions permanent and government-wide. We are ensuring that the federal government is not using taxpayer dollars to take innocent lives or provide coverage that would."
